Easy Peasy Home Crafts

This page is completely unrelated to doing nails. It show cases some of the simple crafts I have done for the home. I believe in craft projects that can be done within an hour, thirty minutes is even better. :)

10-MINUTE WREATH

Anyone can make this wreath in about ten minutes. I needed a wreath quick one day and didn't have time to run to the store so I whipped this up! You simply need a plain grapevine wreath. I found mine at a local thrift store (D.I.) for like a dollar or two. I spray painted it with Krylon-Blue Ocean Breeze. It's a quick dry kind. I had some ribbon lying around that needed using so I wrapped it around, glued the ends to the back and glued a bow to the front. It's probably the easiest craft I've done and I think it turned out really cute!

A LITTLE GLUE, A LITTLE PAINT, & A LITTLE TIME

Most of this stuff I found at my local thrift store Deseret Industries. There are so many gems that can be found out there if you look for potential.
The blue kitchen containers were a hideous floral pink color, but with some Blue Ocean Breeze by Krylon spray painted on them, they are really cute. Each piece cost me a dollar where normally a set of them would cost between $20-30.
The tea pot and the surrounding porcelain containers were also from a thrift store. Super cheap and super ugly, but painted them white and they fit right in!
The candles are placed in cylinder dollar vases I found and I glued candle stick holders to the base. Then I added some dried split peas to the base. I ended up spray painted them green to hold their color.
The bird I found at Hobby Lobby in a color I despised, but saw it's potential and with their regular 40% off coupon, the $6 for it was so worth it!. This yellow bird makes me happy. I also used the same yellow spray paint for the short square candle holder and found a decorative ball from Hobby Lobby to top it off with.
Both silver milk cans I found from the local thrift store and love them the way they are!
I've also started to repaint frames, which is an easy way to spruce up and add color to the home.

 LAMP MAKEOVER

I am in love with this lamp of mine. This project will take more like an hour, but totally worth it! I found an ugly gold and dirty lamp from a thrift store for like $6. Then I spray painted it white. Then I got a shade from Hobby Lobby with the 40% off coupon (don't forget to us the coupon every time you visit the store. I simply bring it up on my phone and show at the cash register). This lamp shade was just the shape I wanted and it came with a sticky surface so all you have to do is peel off the cover layer and stick fabric to it. This shade came with a traceable pattern so you can cut your fabric to just the right size. Then I glued the edges down on the inside with a glue gun. It's one of the fabric pieces in my living room!
P.S. the cute little vases you see are from Hobby Lobby too. In case you were wondering. :)
